eInvoicing: What is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and why do I need one?

Accredited Service Providers (ASPs)

An Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is a Ministry-accredited provider authorised to enable businesses to send and receive eInvoices through the UAE eInvoicing framework.

Key rules businesses should plan for

  • You typically appoint one ASP to handle both sending and receiving eInvoices.
  • Onboarding is initiated by the business through EmaraTax, and then completed with the selected ASP.

Participant Identifier and TIN

Your network identifier is based on your tax identifier:

  • If you have a TRN, your TIN is typically derived from it.
  • If you are in scope but not registered for a tax type, you may need to register to obtain a TIN for participation.

What an ASP helps you do

  • Convert/validate invoice data to the required structured format
  • Transmit invoices and receive confirmations/rejections
  • Support operational processes for credit notes and corrections

Kounted can support ASP selection, data readiness checks, and testing prior to go-live.
